Model Monday

It was a twenty minute pose which gave me just enough time to correct the proportions and block in the lights and darks. I used a yellow ochre watercolor pencil to start and added darks with the burnt sienna pencil.

Two and five minute sketches aren’t worthy of a page all their own so I usually group them onto one. Who knew that such a little jem would appear on the page. The pose was so unusual—great angles, tons of foreshortening—that I was wanting another five or ten minutes with it. And although I never figured out the feet or fleshed out the hands, I think its pretty successful. Colored pencil.
